Winifred Sammis

Winifred "Winnie"  Sammis, age 95, passed away quietly at her Mastic residence on November 03, 2019. Born in Jamaica, New York, and long time resident of Mastic, Winnie was a very sociable, caring, considerate woman and devout member of the Assembly of God Church in Shirley, N.Y.  Predeceased by her daughter; Claudia Broder and husband; George Sammis, Winnie is survived by her sons; Jeffery Sammis of Virginia, Ronald (Elania) Sammis of Mastic, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and sister; Judith Duff of Virginia. Family and friends will gather for services at Davin's Funeral Home on Thursday, November 07, 2019, from 9am-11am.  Funeral prayers will be offered by Pastor Shaw of the Assembly of God Church, Shirley, N.Y.  Burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y.
